B1116 Harleston Hill closed


B1116 Harleston Hill – Rumsey’s Arch – Bridge Works – 14 – 17 June 2019

Suffolk County Council will be carrying out bridge repair works to Rumsey’s Arch, over the B1116 Harleston Hill, Fressingfield. This work is necessary to rebuild and reconstruct the brickwork parapet. .

The work is planned to start on Friday 14 June 2019 at 8pm and will continue over the weekend until Monday 17 June 2019 at 6am.

The times and dates of works may change depending on the weather conditions. If they do change, we will let you know by updating the information signs on site.

The section of the B1116 Harleston Hill, Fressingfield that runs under the bridge will be temporarily closed to through traffic for 24 hours continuously.

There will be no access for pedestrians and cyclists through the works site for the duration of the closure. During the period of the closure, traffic will be diverted via: Harleston Hill B1116 - Laxfield Road B1116 - Laxfield Road B1117 - Queen Street B1118 - Chickering Road B1118 - Lower Oakley B1118 - A140 - Bungay Road A143 - Wells Lane - Harleston Hill B1116 and Vice Versa.

These temporary traffic management measures are required to allow the works to be carried out safely and in accordance with current Health and Safety guidelines.
