Message from Suffolk County Council Highways Department
Dear all,
For your information, we are planning to carry out surface dressing works along B1117 Laxfield Road, Stradbroke between Fressingfield Road and Barley Green. The works are programmed to take place between 31 July and 3 August 2020. This will require a temporary overnight and day-time road closure, as detailed below, to ensure that we can carry out our works safely. Traffic cones may also be placed to prevent on-street parking, so our work site is unobstructed.
To undertake the surface dressing, whilst limiting the impact on the travelling public as best as possible, road space has been booked for 9am – 3pm as well as 7pm – 7am. The current plan is to complete work between 4am and 7am, which will then enable peak traffic times to be undisrupted. The work will then recommence and continue between 9am and 3pm.
For the duration of the road closure, traffic will be diverted via B1117 - B1118 - B1116 - B1117 and vice versa.
As we plan roadworks in advance, we schedule extra days to allow for bad weather or other delays beyond our control. If we need to make major changes to our work dates, we will update the information signs on site.
A plan showing the diversion route for these works is attached to this email. When we close the road and put a diversion in place, the route needs to be accessible to vehicles of all shapes and sizes. We make our diversions as clear as possible by placing appropriate signing along the route.
